Welcome to the Twyford Tennis Club Website
Twyford Tennis Club, Berkshire, is located in the heart of the village in King George V playing field, behind the village hall (Loddon Hall) and is easily accessible from Reading, Wargrave, Sonning and Hurst. The standard at Twyford Tennis Club is mixed and welcomes senior and junior players of all abilities. There are three, floodlit tennis courts enabling play to continue throughout the year.
A new club house arrived in 2005, the courts were re-surfaced in 2009 and now flood lights have been extended to all three courts so that members can enjoy great facilities throughout the year, at this friendly, local club. The courts are rarely full and we welcome new members at any time during the season.
As the standard is mixed, there's no need to feel daunted if you're new to the game or you haven't played for a while. We offer free coaching so that you can gain some confidence and quickly start to join in on club nights.
More experienced players will find plenty of challenges too. In addition to the Tuesday and Thursday club sessions we have Mens, Ladies and Mixed teams entered in the Berkshire League, including Veterans. Social club tournaments and the annual club championships (Singles, Mixed and Doubles) offer plenty of opportunity for competitive play as well. Our Monday night Match Practice sessions, for team standard players, have increased in popularity and have proved invaluable for our teams in the league.
We welcome Juniors, of all ages, and offer coaching, tennis camps and fun tournaments organised by our LTA qualified coach. A special programme of activities, including school holiday workshops and tournaments, provide ample opportunities for youngsters.
We are not as big as some Berkshire tennis clubs and believe in ‘tennis for everyone’ - we enjoy our social tennis as well as giving those with ability the chance to progress. The club aims to maintain its friendly atmosphere and provides family membership at a reduced rate. |
